MODUL 7, Bed stories

As adults we spend approximately one third of the whole day for sleep, at the average around 8 hours per day. That means one third of our life span. We should therefore pay attention that we spend this time undisturbed and comfortable. Thus we need a wide bed with a relaxing surface which is elastic, but also supporting and humidity absorbing. Especially during sleep we emit a lot of humidity which needs to be absorbed. Otherwise we start to sweat during sleeping. The choice of the mattress is crucial but unfortunately also a question of money. The bed should provide relaxation and a feeling of security. Our natural life starts and also ends in the bed.

The bed plays an important role in our life. We relax, we use less energy and recover from the strains of the day. Studies have also shown that we also restructure problems during the sleep and possibly even find also a solution. The well-known expression “I have to sleep on something” indicates this important function of sleep. Also dreams do help to work on and organize the experiences of the day. Thus we should also take our time to interpret our dreams. During our sleep our brain cleans up: “night grooming”. Thus we stay adaptive. Whoever has not slept sufficiently, is less capable of absorbing new information.
